How it works

1. Heroes and Champion awards are for individuals; Inclusive Companies awards are for organisations

2. D&I consultants working within a larger (non D&I) company are encouraged to enter on behalf of their organisations

3. A nominee can be nominated for multiple categories – but only 1 application per category is permitted.

4. A nominator can nominate any number of nominees. All nominees must accept the nomination to be considered

5. Judging will also take into account individual circumstances and will favour a diverse range of candidates (diversity group, job function, industry sector and maturity level etc.)

6. Judging will be based on tangible achievements with evidence i.e. how has the nominee made a positive impact in

  • promoting diversity,
  • improving the work environment to make it easier for CALD People who self-identify as culturally and linguistically diverse – includes Indigenous, Aboriginal and Torres straits Islander peoples; first and second generation migrants (Usually Non- Anglo Celtic/Saxon)* employees to be included, belong or advance
  • fostering inclusive behaviours/culture within organisations and ensure that companies strive to do more.

Note:

  • Awards are not open to D&I consultants, consulting companies, and institutions working in diversity, where D&I is their sole business purpose.
  • All nominees must be, or belong to, an eligible organisation. Eligible organisations are organisations that have 150 or more full time employees and are:  private companies; publicly listed companies; multinationals or their subsidiaries; not-for-profit or non-government organisations; educational institutions; franchisors; government departments; government agencies; local government and statutory bodies operating in Australia.

Acknowledgement to Country

At CDW, we pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia.  Representing the oldest living culture in the world, First Nations people have been the traditional custodians of this land for more than 65000 years. Australia, is the only commonwealth country that does not have a signed treaty (a formal agreement with the government and Indigenous people). We at CDW are committed to ensuring that we are inclusive of First Nation Women – we have and always will sponsor these women into our Masterclass at no charge.
